Founded by director and scholar Richard Kolb, the Labyrinth and Canzonetta ensembles bring together outstanding vocalists and instrumentalists specializing in historical performance and the musical rhetoric of the Late Renaissance and Baroque eras. Our programs offer a glimpse of the diverse and rarely heard music and song that entertained the courts and cities of early modern Europe.

Canzonetta is dedicated to curating 17th-century performances of vocal chamber music accompanied by triple harp and lute-family instruments.

Labyrinth creates playfully staged entertainments with music from the courts and cities of Renaissance and Baroque Europe.
